SECURE User Group
In 1997 the South Eastern Spectrum in-house credit unions formed a regional user group to discuss issues and challenges facing their credit union data center operations. A board formed, and semi-annual meetings discussed information technology issues and vendor product development. The SECURE User Group gathered for their first meeting at GTE Federal Credit Union in Tampa, Florida. Over the years, the group has seen many changes including Y2K, Core system migration, a shift from dumb terminals to PCs, and the infamous cancellation while traveling to our meeting on 9-11-2001. Many members began their careers on the MPE HP3000 and now embrace the UNIX and LINUX environment. We have grown from a centralized system to the world of server farms and BCP regulatory reporting and change control.
